CHACOM creator and distributor of fine pipes

Following the death of Henri in 1924, the company (London & St Claude factories) is taken over by Paul & Adrian Comoy with help from Emile & Louis Chapius. By 1928 the London Chacom factory had begun completely making pipes in London and the supplies from St Claude were no longer required. Rather than closing the original factory the company was renamed Comoy (a combination of both names) in 1928. Shapes, ranges and grading remained the same between the two factories and Chacom was only sold in France, Switzerland and Belguim. Founded in 1825, Chapuis Comoy is the oldest pipe manufacturer still in existence. Situated in the middle of the French Jura lies the pipe mecca Saint Claude, where the first pipes were made out of Erica Arborea root wood, better known as briar. Chacom’s range is growing every year with a touch of modernism and originality without ever losing its authenticity. Keep two of your favorite pipes, as well as some tobacco and tools, in this leather case from Chacom. Simple, sturdy, and in a palette that never goes out of style, it's a simple way to transport everything you need for a day on the town. This full grain leather tobacco pouch has a beautiful retro brown hue. Browse our selection of Chacom tobacco pipes and you’ll understand why, from the first smoke. The Jura Mountains are notable for tobacco pipe history thanks to the town of Saint-Claude, which historians have noted is the birthplace of the briar pipe. The Chacom brand originated in Saint-Claude, France, in 1928. Each day, 20 employees (a team of diehards) still perpetuate a century-old know-how and give a modern touch to the briar pipes. Set up in Villard-Saint-Sauveur, a village neighboring Saint-Claude (the world capital city of briar-wood pipe), it is one of the largest French pipe brands. Chacom pipes stand out thanks to their mix of tradition, creation and innovation. Antoine Grenard, the current CEO, wants to modernize the look of old-school wooden pipes. • Always use a cold and clean pipe (a clean pipe is the best way to enjoy the aroma of your tobacco!). Pipes and Cigars do not sell products to anyone under the age of 21. If you do not meet the minimum requirement, please do not enter our site. Chacom has a very long history that goes back to the beginning of the nineteenth century, the time when no more bryar pipes were made. The name Chacom is a derivative of the company name Chapuis, Comoy & Cie. Indeed, the current English Comoy and French Chacom a large family business originated in the region of Saint Claude. The naturally irregular grain and brown color of this leather reinforces the vintage side of this great classic. Meerschaummarket.com does not sell tobacco related products to anyone under the age of 21, nor do we sell tobacco nor cigarettes. Antoine GRENARD, managing director, is the 6th generation in charge of this family-owned company. In 1922, Henry Comoy joined forces with his cousin Chapuis.
