No, this isn't Pipeworks & Wilke's Rumcake or #191, both of which I love. But the girlfriend, a confirmed anti-smoker, loves the room note and never complains. That's reason enough right there to keep the White Captain at hand, in my humble opinion. Soft to the tongue, burns evenly. The white package is perhaps the weakest of the two but still very good, and a good choice for someone just beginning pipe smoking. It is a very cool smoke, burns slow, has a wonderfull aroma and a pleasing-enough flavor when slowly wiffed out thru the nose. I cannot recall a single time when this mixture has ever bit my tongue . The only reason why I give Captain Black White a 3 rating is because it is only surpassed by special blends from a professional tobacconist. I don't know about this particular mixture being a lady killer or not. Smokes nice & smooth with just the right flavor & aromatic fragrance. This is the choice of tobacco I prefer so far but smoking a pipe is new to me. I bought a pipe and light from you folks and I'm extremely satisfied with everything. It is mild, tastes like vanilla flavored prunes and will not bite no matter how hard you puff. It stays lit well, and is even cheap enough for Jack Benny. If I am out and about and find myself without any quality leaf for my pipe, I don't mind taking the Captain for a cruise...as long as it's a short one.
