A little boring but at least you know what you are getting. If smoked too much over a short period of time it does get a little heavy and the vanilla will get on your nerves. It is cheap and a good basic smoke. For now it is a regular rotated tobacco for me and will probably stay that way even after I find others that I like. captain black tobacco I got each pouch for under $2 each! I'm going to cellar most of what I bought and see how it fairs with another 6 months to a year of aging on it. Halfway through the pouch, I took one of my favorite "Outlaw Jose Wales" cigars (Backwoods Black & Natural) and mixed it into the pouch, less the wrapper leaf. This was a delightful experience and a big improvement. I'll be making this combination again. This is good stuff so I keep buying it. A lot of people on here seem to be having some problems understanding this blend. Gentleman - you're not going into this expecting a premium, hand crafted pipe tobacco.
Then, after I've finished the pouch, I stopped looking for it as my tastes started to change and I've developed a taste for more premium tobaccos. I’d guess that one reason that people don’t enjoy this is because if they’re strong English smokers, this may very well taste like vanilla and hot air to their pallets. I’ve tried Dunhill - Durbar and smoked this afterward and could hardly taste the CB. It’s not very intense or in your face like some I’ve had and it might take laying off on those stronger blends to adjust to this mild and mellow smoke. I stretch my imagination to taste what they do. I smoke a lot of different tobaccos, from expensive tins to cheap, bulk bags.
